Coolock Vets & Equipet Open Day
We did it!!!
In some ways, the last couple of months have flown by yet it feels like we have been working on the plans for this clinic for a long time. When I applied for the job as manager for a group of Veterinary Clinics, I didn't foresee myself becoming overly familiar not only with Ikea but also on first name terms with all the employees of the local electrical store. Several times I found myself going at speed against the arrows in Ikea looking for the ‘home’ section to find such things as a drawer organiser for our precious new clinic. My brain thought IKEA was a home department store fullstop but the Ikea geniuses had different ideas.
In our dedication to detail and plans for our perfect clinic, I have singlehandedly reduced the unfortunate builders to tears over the last several months! The builders, may I point out are middle aged beardy men who look like the last time they cried was when they stopped making Baywatch. We wanted perfection and anything less just wouldn't do. But finally we opened Coolock Vets and we thank all of you who turned out to support us and make our weekend. We met truly fabulous pets and people who happily joined in the mayhem. Pets and people in that order. As all of our crew are from a veterinary/animal background, we put our four legged friends above our fellow two legged. We cant apologise for this. It’s in our genes!! Nobody complained about waiting to see our vets & nurses. Our queue system wasn't quite military style. Mainly because we got distracted every 10 minutes by adorable puppies and abandoned our stations. The cooing over puppies could be heard in Malahide.
We met all kinds of species. From dogs and cats to rabbits and guinea pigs and pet rats and mice. We even met a football-playing terrier who popped in to see Dawn, one of our vets to get a skin complaint looked at.
Hopefully we will continue to see you all over the next couple of months, thank you all for your support this weekend down at Coolock Vets & Equipet.
